I add the rattle during the process in both ends to give a not too loud but not too soft rattle. This would be good if you were looking for something more than just a photo prop. For either option, babies love gripping onto these because the grip is just the size of their tiny hands and is knurled, which gives them some texture to grab onto as they discover this new world!
